FIDE, Investment and Exports, is a private nonprofit institution. It was created in 1984 to promote investment in the country, to support the development of Honduran exports and to work alongside the government and other private agencies in the promotion and formulation of new legislation aiming to improve the business climate in Honduras.
FIDE’s mission is to promote the sustainable development of Honduras by means of promoting investments and exports through the continuous improvement of the international competitiveness of the country and its businesses.
FIDE executes a number of programs and activities that offer investors as well as local and foreign businessmen a range of services that seek to facilitate and support the development of new investments or expansions, strategic alliances and business opportunities.
Honduras SI Exporta
FIDE’s program for exporters, Honduras SI Exporta, provides technical assistance and support to Honduras’ exporters. The program’s objective is to accompany and coach Honduras’ businessmen throughout the exporting process. Honduras SI Exporta is directed to potential exporting businesses, pre exporters and exporters.
The services offered under the Honduras SI Exporta program are focused on three areas:
Commercial Intelligence
As members of the System Honduras SI Exporta, companies have access to information on market opportunities, trade statistics and information on market trends and others, that will allow them to evaluate the potential of different markets when making strategic decisions.
Technical Advising
The members Honduras SI Exporta receive counsel and coaching throughout the export process in areas such as: planning, information on market access requirements, procedures that should be carried out in different offices, basic diagnosis of exporting capacity and of the areas that should be strengthened, regulatory norms , certification trends , among others, with the objective of better preparing companies for meeting the demands of international markets and culminating successfully the export process of their products.
Commercial Promotion
The member companies of Honduras SI Exporta will be able to benefit from the Commercial Promotion tools of FIDE, among them , professionally advised fair trade participation, trade missions, the Export Directory, and the Honduras SI Exporta web page. Additionally, FIDE is continuously carrying out a process of proactive development of alliances and building a network of international buyers that can represent the opening of new markets for the member companies.
